Thank you for visiting High SocieTea, our blog dedicated to our passion for high tea. This site exists simply because I *love* high tea and I love sharing high tea experiences with good friends.
My name is Corinne. I am from Sydney, Australia and unashamedly a self-proclaimed Queen of High Tea. It is a little bit presumptuous but from back in the year 2000 (the first time I was introduced to high tea) up to 2024, I have visited around 40 different hotels all over the world that offered a high tea experience.
This blog will hopefully help you discover places where you can go and experience high tea, not just in Sydney but also in any other places where I may end up discovering cool high tea venues.
I have decided in 2024 to visit as many places as possible to enjoy high tea but also to create a list of places in this blog where you can have a nice afternoon with friends, celebrating a birthday, a milestone, baby shower or just a catch-up with the girls. I find high tea with my girls, liberating, exhilarating and uplifting.
I have two accomplices who always indulge me: Kat and Michelle, who always say ‘yes’ every time I ask them to check a new place or any hotels that are doing promotions for luxurious high teas. They are also always on the lookout for places to visit.
This year we are going to revisit old places and some new ones. Fancy ones or just simple ones. We hope we can bring to you the best places for high tea to celebrate life.
Introducing Kat Hill
I have known Kat for 10 years at least. Our kids attended the same swim school when they were toddlers. Whilst chatting we discovered we share the love of high tea in common. Our first high tea together was at The Shangri-La one sunday afternoon over 6 years ago. We dressed up in nice frocks and caught the bus to the city that afternoon. That was the beginning of our high tea adventures.
