My Mum and I visited this spectacular High Tea in the heart of Staffordshire and the home of Wedgwood. It was purchased as a gift voucher for my Mum’s birthday. We were made to feel very welcome when we arrived, surrounded with the most beautiful Wedgwood crockery and a superb display of Wedgwood plates in the shape of a 4-legged creature.

Food
The food included a delicious assortment of finger sandwiches, my favourite being the Beef Brisket and the Cream Cheese and Cucumber on brioche bread. So fresh and tasty.

There was a selection of delectable plain and fruit scones with a generous amount of strawberry jam and clotted cream.

Now to my favourite part…the exquisite sweets. A succulent Sticky Toffee Cake with an edible Chocolate Wedgwood Plaque, Apple and Cinnamon Crumble Tart, Triple Chocolate Brownie, a Wedgwood Blue Macaroon and a Lemon, Blackberry and Pistachio Posset, culminating in a culinary feast. This was all matched with a vast selection of tasty teas, presented in a beautiful Wedgwood teapot.

We were fully satisfied and started to plan our next visit when I am next in the UK. I would recommend this high tea to anyone visiting the Midlands, for its heavenly food, beautiful surroundings and depth of history.

Overall experience 9/10
We chose the Afternoon Tea with prosecco for £32.50. Other options include the Afternoon Tea with champagne (£34.50) or the Bottomless Prosecco Afternoon Tea (£50), great for a girl’s afternoon. Bookings are recommended and Afternoon Tea is served 11-3.30pm daily.
Free parking, delightful food and wine, beautiful Wedgwood kitchenware, gorgeous surroundings and great customer service. They also offered a doggie bag to take food home, meaning we didn’t have to overwhelm ourselves. I wish all my high tea experiences offered this!
We completed our visit with a look around the quaint local gift shop, The Wedgwood Museum showcasing local information and Wedgwood history and the Wedgwood Store for some bargain pottery shopping. Onsite is also a working distillery (‘Sixtowns’) that offers tours, in addition to being a stylish bar (great for a cocktail after high tea), and a fine-dining experience at Lunar – a culinary masterpiece of Staffordshire’s heritage.
