Exceptional High Tea at The Cove Dining Co: A Charming Venue Review

This week, we had the pleasure of experiencing high tea at The Cove Dining Co in Abbotsford, choosing a weekday for a refreshing change. Our visit proved to be an extraordinary delight from start to finish.

Booking Process Our reservation was effortlessly made through their user-friendly website. On the day of our booking, we appreciated the personal touch of a phone call from the manager, confirming our reservation.

Arrival and Venue Upon arrival in Abbotsford, we found ample street parking with ease. The venue, set amidst lush trees and vibrant plants, greeted us with a charming staircase entrance. Housed in the heritage-listed community hall of the former Abbotsford Nestlé factory site, The Cove Dining Co offers a picturesque setting, perfect for enjoying a sunny day on their balcony.

The establishment features outdoor seating at both the front, overlooking a beautifully maintained garden, and the back, which opens onto a serene park. We were seated at the back, enjoying the tranquil garden view.

Service and Atmosphere The service was nothing short of exceptional. The manager, recognizing my accent from our phone conversation, greeted me in French, adding a personal and welcoming touch. Our waitress was professional, friendly, and attentive, enhancing our overall experience.

Tea and Food We had the option of coffee or tea with our high tea, and we chose coffee. The atmosphere, coupled with the elegant décor and garden view, created a homely ambiance that made us reluctant to leave. We could have easily spent the entire afternoon sipping coffee and admiring the garden.

The food was a true highlight. The savory selection included delectable arancini, corn fritters, mini sandwiches, and hummus on toast. The scones were the epitome of perfection—soft and delicate on the inside, with a crunchy exterior, served with homemade jam and fresh cream.

The mini pastries were exquisite. The passion fruit tart was a delightful burst of flavours, while the lemon tart was flawlessly balanced. A mini macaron and a mini pecan tart rounded out the selection, each offering a unique and memorable taste experience.

Our visit to The Cove Dining Co was reminiscent of a blissful summer vacation. This charming venue has certainly earned a spot on our must-visit list for the future.

Cost $60 per person.  High Tea comes with complimentary Tea or Coffee but you can also buy a glass of Sparkly or Rose to complement your high tea.

Bonus: You get a container to take the leftovers.
