We recently revisited the High Tea experience aboard Captain Cook Cruises—and once again, it proved to be a charming way to spend an afternoon gliding across Sydney Harbour.

The experience begins with a leisurely boarding at King Street Wharf in Darling Harbour, followed by a warm welcome on deck. Once seated, guests are served a classic high tea spread delicate finger sandwiches filled with cold meats, prawns, ham, and smoked salmon, alongside savoury pastries and mini quiches. Traditional scones, perfectly paired with jam and cream, and a colourful selection of petits fours round out the offering. A glass of sparkling wine is included, setting a celebratory tone from the very start, with additional drinks and cocktails available for purchase at the onboard bar.
While the food is just pleasant and not mouth watering, it’s the cruise itself that truly elevates the experience. As the vessel sails past the Sydney Opera House, Harbour Bridge, and the city’s glistening skyline, you’ll find it hard not to be captivated by the ever-changing views.

After enjoying your high tea, make your way up to the deck with a drink in hand. Whether you’re snapping photos or simply soaking in the scenery, it’s the perfect way to appreciate the magic of Sydney from the water.
Bookings can be made online, with prices for the High Tea Cruise starting at $89. It’s an ideal outing for visitors and locals alike—elegant, relaxing, and uniquely Sydney.
